The camshaft gear is a part attached to the valve-timing shaft, which serves to obtain torque from the engine crankshaft by means of a belt or additional gears (lower valve timing). This gear allows you to adjust the valve timing in relation to the working order of the cylinders. One engine can use one or more gears, depending on the number of valves per cylinder and the features of the engine layout.

The operational principle of camshaft gear
