The design of steering column

The device of the steering column is a shaft with hinges, located in the casing. The remaining elements are auxiliary and provide additional functionality:

1. housings for mounting switches and ignition locks;
2. a cross connecting the steering wheel to the column;
3. mounting sleeve;
4. contact Group;
5. fasteners;
6. steering damper;
7. locking mechanisms, adjustments, etc.

The steering column uses energy-absorbing materials. Due to which the entire structure can be folded in case of a strong frontal impact. This helps to reduce the risk of injury to the driver, and creates additional safety in a frontal collision.
