The fuel pressure sensor is an integral part of the fuel supply system for gasoline and diesel engines. Depending on the design of the system, two regulators can be installed in the car, for the low and high-pressure lines.

The functionality of the fuel pressure sensor

The HOFFER brand Sensor, fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the ramp; for diesel engines with fuel supply via the common rail system, gasoline internal combustion engines, the sensor location is different. The only connection principle remains - a pipe from the pump or mounting on a fuel rail. If the system assumes fuel recirculation, which is typical for gasoline injection engines, the regulator is installed on the rail. If the system does not imply a discharge of fuel from the rail, the sensor is mounted immediately after the fuel pump.

Structurally, the part consists of a metal diaphragm, which bends under fuel pressure and is tuned to a certain operating range and an electrical regulating part. The electrical assembly is represented by four strain gauges, which change the resistance of the element during the mechanical action of the fuel on the membrane.
