In this case, excessive clearance may occur, and even damage to individual parts of the device, which is responsible for changing the valve timing.

The operation of a camshaft adjustment central valve

Valve sticking open will be especially noticeable at idle or in low speed mode, that is, when the camshaft and gear should be in the zero position.
