The dust cover kit usage

Automotive ORIGINAL IMPERIUM brand Dust Cover Kit, shock absorber are exposed to significant loads, primarily the oil seal and chrome-plated stem wear out. To protect these elements from contamination, damage, and, therefore, from premature wear, a special protection kit is used, including a boot and a bump stop.

The bump stop of the shock absorber ensures smooth limitation of the stroke of the strut rod when it is fully compressed. This helps to avoid sharp impacts on the body when overcoming obstacles while driving.

The strut boot has the form of a corrugated casing, which is hermetically put on top of the bump stop. Its task is to prevent dust, dirt, sand and moisture from entering the mechanism, which are escaping from under the wheels. The boot guarantees a longer service life of the shock absorber.
