The gearbox is one of the most important components in any car. During operation, this unit generates noise and vibration, which are transmitted to the body and frame of the machine. This is felt especially in cars with manual transmissions. In order to reduce the level of vibrations and remove unnecessary hum, a special support or pillow is installed on the gearbox. It is located at the point where the box is attached to the frame and acts as a shock absorber.

The material of the manual transmission mount

This part is made of hard rubber and metal, as well as from other materials that can seal the automatic transmission mount, providing a more reliable installation. The transmission mount absorbs most of the vibration, transferring only part of it to the vehicle body. This is very important, since other sources of vibration also affect the body, so the more efficiently the vibrations of each unit in the car are damped, the more comfortable it will be in the cabin and many components will last longer.
