It is it that is responsible for the connection of the bendix gears to the flywheel teeth and back, and hence for starting the engine as well. There are several reasons for failure: breakage or short circuit of the winding, deformation or burning of relay nodes. Each of these reasons leads to the fact that you start to either repair it, or buy a new part. However, it is worth remembering that if a click is heard when turning the key, the starter relay is working properly, if not, it is time to change it.
