Good quality! Super fast delivery. Thank you a lot :)

The turbocharging pressure sensor is an important component of a turbocharged engine. The power performance of the motor depends on its correct operation.

An atmospheric combustion engine, consuming air, creates a vacuum in the intake manifold, and in the case of a supercharged engine, on the contrary, a higher pressure is created in the manifold in comparison with atmospheric pressure. One way or another, this pressure must be measured, because when assessing the load on the engine, the ECU is repelled precisely from the amount of vacuum or boost. As a result, a strictly defined amount of fuel must be injected, no more (to avoid overspending) and no less (to avoid detonation). To measure the absolute pressure in the intake manifold, a MAP-sensor (CALORSTAT by Vernet brand Sensor, intake manifold pressure) was created.

The principle of the sensor work

The turbocharged engine monitors the boost pressure and transmits the received data to the engine control unit, which calculates the required boost for the current operating mode of the unit. The boost pressure sensor, together with an intercooler and a compression ratio regulator, prevents knocking.
