The constructive features of the brake booster
The vacuum TRW brand Brake Booster constructively forms a single block with the brake master cylinders, including the diaphragm, housing, pusher, follower valve, return spring and piston rod. The body is divided into two cameras. The first is facing the brake master cylinder. It is called vacuum. The opposite chamber is called atmospheric.
Through a check valve, the vacuum chamber is connected to a suitable vacuum source. The latter is represented by a separate area directly in the intake manifold of the power unit after the throttle valve. To ensure the uninterrupted operation of the vacuum amplifier in each of the modes of operation of the vehicle, a vacuum electric pump is used. It acts as a source of discharge. The use of a vacuum pump is mandatory on diesel engines.
