While transmissions of three and four-speed automatic transmissions were quite unpretentious in terms of oil quality, the filter played a secondary role. Further modernization of filters was associated with their adaptation in size (different for SUVs and cars), there were main lines, magnetic for screening out metal particles, with different mounts.
