A vacuum hose can be used in various systems in a motor vehicle, e.g. in the turbocharger or in the central locking system. Vacuum hoses are also required for the brake booster, which as a rule also works with vacuum in a car. The vacuum that is needed for the brake booster is generated by a vacuum pump in a diesel engine as well as in a gasoline engine with direct injection. In classic petrol engines, the required vacuum is created in the intake manifold behind the throttle valve.

The design of vacuum hose

The construction of a VAICO brand Vacuum Hose, brake system must be dimensioned in such a way that it can withstand the respective vacuum without losing its shape. A thick rubber hose is sufficient for this in most cases. If a high negative pressure occurs, additional reinforcement is installed, e.g. glass fiber or steel mesh. A defect in a vacuum hose is associated with a leak. As a result, the respective system no longer works properly or the system fails completely. As a rule, it makes sense to replace a defective vacuum hose. Any existing seals should also be replaced. In the case of safety-relevant systems, e.g. the brake system, repairs should be left to a specialist workshop.
