TEDGUM brand Sleeve, control arm mounting - the part that connects the suspension components and dampens vibrations. Due to this, it is possible to maintain a stable position of the car, smooth, comfortable movement. It consists of metal bushings and a rubber gasket between them (elastomer). Elastomers prevent the bushings from rubbing against each other, and reduce vibration, shock, and noise. Their advantage over other connecting elements is ease of maintenance. They do not require the use of oil; they are easily replaced in the event of a malfunction.
The construction of the control arm mounting sleeve
The structural components of sleeves are bushings and elastomer. There can be two bushings: internal and external. There are models with one sleeve. In this case, the part to which the sleeve is attached plays the role of another sleeve. The elastomer can be made of rubber or polyurethane. The arm bushings are located in the front suspension area of the vehicle. Used for front and trailing arms.
In addition to localization in the car, the material of manufacture distinguishes sleeves. There are rubber and polyurethane models. Polyurethane ones will last longer. Rubber parts tend to deform, change size. At the same time, the changes concern the entire suspension structure.
