Diverter Valve, charger - V30-77-0028 VEMO

Designed to adjust the fuel supply depending on the change in boost pressure, i.e. this diverter is installed on the injection pump of engines operating with supercharging. The need for its use is because with a decrease in boost pressure, the amount of air supplied to the engine cylinders also decreases, which, in turn, necessitates a decrease for fuel supplied.

The operational principle of a VEMO brand Diverter Valve, charger

The diverter works as follows. When the boost pressure is low, it is not enough to overcome the force of the spring and the diaphragm is in its original top position. In the case of an increase in boost pressure, the membrane and rod move down. Because of this vertical movement of the rod, the pin changes its position, which leads to the rotation of the two-arm lever about its axis in a clockwise direction. This leads to the fact that the power lever of the speed controller rotates about the axis and shifts the metering clutch in the direction of increasing the fuel supply, i.e. more air supply corresponds to more fuel supply. If the boost pressure decreases, then the spring moves the rod up. The speed control power lever turns in the opposite direction, which leads to a decrease for fuel supplied.
