The material of the seals is a wear-resistant rubber with a flat outer side. The reverse side of the part has an outer edge adjacent to the body and an inner edge with a soft seal and a spring that provides a better fit to the shaft. Oil seal replacement is necessary when oil leaks from the front axle housing through the outer part of the stocking and enters the steering knuckle. Such problems can be caused by wear of the working edge, insufficient contact with the outer wall, tear or mechanical damage to the seal.
