V-belts are used in belt drives, and this type is the most popular among all belts. Unlike flat belts, they are trapezoidal or wedge-shaped in cross-section. As in other belt drives, the torque from the driving V-pulley to the belt and from it to the driven pulley is carried out by frictional forces.
