Torsion Damper, clutch - 1866 600 013 SACHS

The SACHS brand Torsion Damper, clutch for the torque transmission device includes the first element and the second element rotatable relative to each other. The damping means comprise an elastic plate fixedly connected to the first element and having a cam surface. The cam follower is mounted on the second element and is configured to interact with the cam surface. With an angular deviation between the first element and the second element relative to the angular position of rest, the cam follower acts with a bending force on the elastic plate. The reverse reaction force tends to return the first and second elements to the angular position of rest. The cam follower is located radially outside the elastic plate. An improvement in the damping characteristic is achieved.

The usage of a clutch torsion damper

The stiffness of such a damper is determined depending on the number of helicoidal springs included in its composition, on the intrinsic stiffness of the springs, and on the diameter of the place where the springs are installed. The selection of the stiffness of such torsion dampers is the result of a compromise between the filtering efficiency of acyclicity, which increases with decreasing stiffness, and the ability to transmit maximum torque while avoiding the coils of the springs colliding with each other, which requires sufficient stiffness.
