Typically, the intake air temperature sensor is installed in the intake manifold housing. Its task is obvious - to register the temperature of the intake air. Such control is necessary to maintain the required ratio of the components of the fuel-air mixture for stable engine operation. The volume of air directly depends on its temperature. Failure of the intake air temperature sensor makes it impossible for the fuel system ECU to adequately respond to changes in environmental parameters.
