This bearing is designed to secure the shafts in the gearbox housing and ensure its free rotation. Allows you to maintain the alignment of the shafts, even with heavy loads, which are transmitted by torque from the engine. The outer cage is pressed into the seat of the gearbox housing, and the inner cage is pressed onto the shaft.
The functionality of the manual transmission bearing
Depending on the model, several bearings are used in the gearbox, two for one shaft. A tapered roller bearing is used at one end and a ball bearing at the other. INA brand Bearing, manual transmission have an outer and inner race, between which rollers or balls are located. They are made of high quality steel, which ensures a long service life under high loads.
As a rule, the service life of bearings is quite long, however, situations may arise when the resource is exhausted or a part has failed due to external factors, for example, dust, moisture, grease leakage or improper pressing of the bearing.
Signs of breakdowns can be as follows:
- hum, whistle, or noise when driving;
- deterioration in gear shifting;
- vibration.
