The crankshaft position sensor is a mechanism responsible for synchronizing the working strokes of the fuel injectors and the ignition in the fuel injection system. Information from this sensor is transmitted to electronic control in order to align the overall valve timing in the engine, resulting in signals for angular, cyclic and stroke fuel injection. The device receives data from a 58-tooth synchronization disk, which measures angular moments in the operation of the crankshaft.

The synchronization sensor, as it is also called, is located in the immediate vicinity of the generator drive pulley, on the mounting bracket.

The construction of the RPM sensor

It should be noted that the EPS brand Sensor, RPM is the only sensor in the event of a breakdown of which the car engine will not start at all.

The crankshaft position sensor consists of a cylindrical body made of plastic or aluminum, a sensing element, a mounting hole, a flange at its base, a shielded shell and a communication cable with it, crimping, and a connecting plug.
