The evaporator of a car air conditioner performs the function of direct air-cooling. At the same time, it is also drained and cleaned.

The evaporator is a conventional radiator with liquid refrigerant inside the tubes. This device is made of copper or aluminum.

During the operation of the air conditioner, the air through the compressor enters the evaporator, where it is cooled. This is accompanied by condensation, the resulting moisture flows down to the edges of the grate into the pan, after which it is removed with the help of a drainage tube to the outside. Along with moisture, unnecessary impurities settle into the pallet, which are removed also from the system.

The conditions of the evaporator usage

The air that enters the air conditioner evaporator contains dust. Over time, it accumulates in the system and a specific smell appears in the cabin. This indicates the need to clean the evaporator. It is recommended to perform this procedure twice a year - in autumn and spring.

Other problems in the operation of this device most often arise because of violent corrosive processes. This leads to damage to this element, because of which its tightness is broken and refrigerant leaks. You can fix this problem by replacing the faulty DELPHI brand Evaporator, air conditioning with a new one.
