In every modern transport, a high-pressure fuel pump is installed. Conventionally, this node is compared with the human heart, which ensures continuous blood circulation throughout the body. But in reality, the purpose of the fuel pump module is much broader. It allows metering of the supplied fuel. The size of the portion of the latter directly depends on the load. Fuel is pumped into the injectors. Thanks to the high-pressure fuel pump, the moment of fuel injection directly into the cylinders is determined.
The functionality of the fuel supply module
The fuel pump module is located on the right side of the tank. It DELPHI brand Fuel Supply Module to the high-pressure mechanical pump through the fuel line. The latter is located at the bottom of the engine. The fuel goes through the filter unit, as well as the heater, which includes a water separator, a fuel-heating element, and a filter element.
The construction of the ball joint
A special module controls the output of the mechanical injection pump. Therefore, the fuel is supplied always at the pressure required for the fuel injectors.
