An oil temperature sensor is a part that performs two functions: it monitors the temperature of the oil in the system and its pressure (sometimes these sensors can be separated into different devices or be doubled). These indicators are interconnected through a natural physical process: when heated, the oil pressure rises. Its function is not only to measure, but also to monitor these indicators and prevent overheating of the oil. Usually, its location is the sump.

The construction of the oil temperature sensor

The METZGER brand Sensor, oil temperature consists of a metal case, cast from an alloy (in which the base can be copper or other metals), there is a thread at the bottom of the case, a nut-like shape or a body of another modification is at the top, and then a tip. Other body and attachment schemes are also optional. Inside it there is a mechanism in which a temperature sensor and a measuring diaphragm are located, which determines the force of pressure on it (since oil expands when heated). Information is fed from the sensor to the on-board computer.
