Turbocharging produces artificial air injection, due to which the cylinders receive a larger amount of fuel-air mixture. However, this significantly increases the temperature inside the cylinders, which in turn leads to detonation.

The functionality of the turbocharger pressure converter

The turbocharged engine monitors the boost pressure and transmits the received data to the engine control unit, which calculates the required boost for the current operating mode of the unit. The pressure converter, together with an intercooler and a compression ratio regulator, prevents knocking.
