The task of the DENCKERMANN brand Urea Filter is to capture the smallest particles that are contained in the exhaust gases of modern engines and can penetrate deep into our respiratory tract (this is why they are more dangerous than large flakes of old engines - they do not reach our lungs). Initially, this applied only to diesel engines, but in recent years, gasoline engines have also been equipped with such filters. As the trapped particles accumulate, the filter becomes clogged and requires burning (regeneration).

The operation of urea filter

Control systems from different manufacturers may differ in details, but the principle is the same. When a certain level of filter resistance is reached, the regeneration mode is automatically switched on. The system uses powerful electrical consumers, includes post-injection - all this allows you to increase the load on the engine, increase the temperature of the exhaust gases, which burn through the filter. The lack of the possibility of regeneration in automatic mode (short trips), ignoring messages about the need for forced burning lead to the fact that the filter becomes so clogged that it is impossible to restore it in the future.
