As with the brake pedal, a sensor of the same type is installed on the clutch pedal. Simply put, this is a kind of limit switch, or as the people call it a frog, which tracks only two positions: the pedal is pressed (contact is closed) and the pedal is not pressed (contact is open). You have to focus only on the behavior of the car, namely at the time of gear shifting.
