The odometer sensor is one of the many automotive sensors responsible for generating measuring information signals, its transmission, further conversion and processing by the electronic control unit and some other devices. If the car does not have an ECU, the need for sensors does not decrease. The output of even the least important of the sensors affects at least how comfortable the car will operate. Modern sensors are based on the Hall Effect. If you say that they do not work on a frequency-pulse signal, it will not become easier, so we will try to explain everything. Therefore, the sensor generates the so-called pulse signal, the pulse repetition rate in which depends on the speed of rotation of the shaft.

The odometer sensor operation

When the ABAKUS brand Sensor, odometer is installed on a moving vehicle, it is able to measure the speed and distance traveled. It is also able to measure the speed and linear dimensions of passing vehicles, mobile devices, and structures. Oddly enough, but the most common and seemingly reliable speed detection systems do not tolerate driving with sudden increases in speed. Because of this, the integrity of the plastic tail in the sensor is quickly violated.
