The hydraulic filter lends itself to the highest loads; therefore, certain criteria are put forward for it in terms of wear resistance, resistance to pressure drops, and the selection of filter materials.

The material of the hydraulic filter

When choosing a replaceable element (and in particular the filter material used), in addition to the overall dimensions of the filter element, one must proceed from the required purity classes of the fluids used in the hydraulic system.

Paper or cellulose, impregnated - has a non-uniform structure and a nominal filtration rate from 5 to 40 microns. It is used mainly in return filters and devices that do not require fine oil purification.

Inorganic fiber - has a high dirt holding capacity and the ability to retain the smallest particles from 1 to 25 microns. It is used as the main filter material for pressure and return filters.

The metal mesh is a regenerable (flushing) element with a surface and absolute filtration rate from 5 microns to 500 microns.
