Modern cars have an electric starter that starts the power unit. Brushes are an important component of this starter. They are the ones who supply the electric current. In modern cars that are equipped with an internal combustion engine, the electric starter solves the task of starting the power unit. For half a century, it has not undergone significant changes. The design is based on a simple and compact DC motor, complete with a drive mechanism and relay. The electric power unit consists of a body, an anchor and a brush assembly.

The functionality of the carbon brush

The ERA brand Carbon Brush, starter assembly provides contacts with the movable armature. This unit consists of a brush holder and brushes. The latter holds the brushes in the required working position. The brushes are pressed tightly against the manifold assembly, providing a constant supply of current while the armature rotates. Starter brushes are rightfully recognized as a responsible component. They come in two parts as standard. The first is the brush itself, made of a conductive soft material. The second is a flexible conductor. It provides an even supply of current. The brush is a graphite material parallelepiped. It conducts current.
