The FAST brand Wing are one of the elements of the car body, on which there are special cutouts in the form of wheel arches. They are bolted to the body and protect passengers and the exterior of the vehicle from dirt and debris. Manufacturers provide wings with another function - increasing the aerodynamic properties of the car. This leads to a decrease in resistance, which entails less gas mileage. An additional feature is brake cooling. Only openings for air access to the brake system are located in certain places.

The material of the wing

There are two materials from which the wings are made: plastic and metal. Each material has its pros and cons. Since the purpose of the body element is to protect the safety of passengers, the metal wing is mainly due to the fact that it does not crack or break from external elements. Also, metal elements in an accident protect the engine from direct impact and dampen the force of the impact. In another case, the metal is susceptible to corrosion and, unlike plastic, after a couple of years of operation it loses its quality.
