One of the shafts (or the axis) is inserted into the ring on the support; a ring is put on the second (working) shaft, which perceives the resulting movement. At its core, this is a very small crank, and sometimes the eccentric is used in this capacity, for example, to create vibrations. However, most often this design is used for adjustment: supplying drum brake shoe supports, adjusting the tension of drive belts on engines, matching water mixer inlets and outlets on the wall, etc.

The usage of axle beam caster shim

This is the (simplest) version of the cam mechanism, which creates a harmonious movement, in which the movements of the pusher are proportional to the cosine (or sine) of the eccentric rotation angle. It is most often used to drive pistons or diaphragms of low-power pumps (engine fuel pumps), as well as for small translational movements, for example, converting the rotational movement of a lock handle into a reciprocating movement of a latch bolt.
