An element in a car such as a crankshaft is responsible for transferring combustion energy to the wheels, converting it into torque energy. Sliding occurs through the crankshaft journals, and between the journal and the bearing there is a thin film that minimizes friction. The main bearings are located in the places where the crankshaft passes in the internal combustion engine housing, in contrast to the connecting rod bushings, which are attached between the journal and the connecting rod of the crankshaft.

The material o the crankshaft bearing

The main crankshaft bearing often consists of a metal alloy, of 2 or 3 metals, multi-layer (2-5-layer), over 2.5 mm thick (modern models are thinner, older ones are thicker). Has a cylindrical body bearing, lubrication groove, lubrication hole, bearing lock. The main bearing of the main crankshaft is usually steel. The rest of the metals included in its composition may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer (however, you need to order the part that suits your engine). Metal alloys can include lead, cadmium, tin, aluminum, nickel, zinc, bronze, copper and their alloys.
