Good quality! Super fast delivery. Thank you a lot :)

On modern cars, you will no longer find a mechanical gas pedal, since it has long been replaced by electrically actuated accelerators. Of course, this makes the process of driving a car as easy as possible for us, which, of course, is a plus. In the most general terms, the principle of its operation remains the same. The only caveat is that a control unit appears between the pedal and the throttle, which intervenes in the process of adjusting the behavior of the car.

The operation of an accelerator pedal

The FEBI BILSTEIN brand Accelerator Pedal is the mechanism by which the acceleration of the car is controlled. More precisely, by pressing the pedal, the driver controls the position of the throttle. In the old days, the pedal drive was purely mechanical. It is almost impossible to meet a mechanical pedal in modern realities. Today it has been replaced by an electronic counterpart.

A modern accelerator pedal has electronic components. The operation of the device is based on a rheostat, and the functioning of the pedal is possible thanks to special tracks along which a group of contacts passes. Duplication of contacts provides greater reliability. As the contacts move along the tracks, the load on the sensors changes. The latter, in turn, send data to the throttle body. This is the principle of operation of the accelerator pedal assembly, in short.
