The oil cooler consists of heat pipes and plates for circulating heated oil. It is inside this device that the lubricant is cooled to a safe temperature. There are systems with natural and artificial cooling. The latter is equipped with an additional turbine, which creates a powerful air flow for better cooling. The principles of the oil cooler

During operation, the oil cooler and its tubes can wear out and fail. Small particles, dust and other contaminants are clogged into the honeycomb, which significantly reduces heat transfer. Therefore, periodically clean the system for more efficient cooling.

The need to replace the radiator may be indicated by thickening of the lubricant and the appearance of a characteristic plaque on the wall of the expansion tank. Operating your vehicle with a worn-out oil cooler can cause engine damage.
