The usage of the thermostat gasket

The gasket is a sealing element designed to seal the thermostat housing / cover. Due to its elasticity, the gasket prevents leaks and maintains operating pressure in the cooling system. Depending on the place of application and the type of thermostat, the consumable has a different shape and material of manufacture.

Each car and body type has its own gasket with a specific shape. Often made from the following materials:

1. nitrile butadiene rubber;
2. ethylene-propylene terpolymer;
3. rubber.
