The ingress of moisture into the auto-air conditioner system is extremely dangerous, since water, under the influence of low temperatures, turns into ice, which clogs the lines. To remove moisture in a timely manner, a special filter drier, or receiver, is installed in the high-pressure lines. Its main function is to absorb water accidentally entering the system. In addition, the design of the air conditioner filter provides for the cleaning of freon from solid impurities.

It protects the system from negative phenomena associated with the ingress of water from the outside air: from the formation of ice plugs in the tubes, impairment of the tubes' patency and a decrease in the oil supply to the compressor.
