Adjustable panhard rod is used when lifting the suspension of a bridge car. When installing long springs, the vehicle is raised and the panhard rod is displaced from its factory position when the vehicle is at rest. The silent block of the panhard rod is a rubber-metal hinge that serves to fasten any part to the body. Due to the fact that the hinge is rubber-metal, when the car is moving, all vibrations and shocks are damped.

The symptoms of silent block failure are simple. If, when starting, shifting gears or braking from the bottom rear of the car body, a strong blow occurs, and the remaining components are in order, then the rear beam silent block is faulty. Another malfunction gives a similar effect - the failure of the gearbox support. So if an impact occurs, you must also check the condition of this part. On vehicles with ASC, if the silent block fails on a dry road, the system may be triggered.

When the car is hung out, the failed silent blocks of the panhard rod are clearly visible - the panhard rod is lowered onto an additional bracket screwed from below under the silent block. If you put the mounting between the rod and the bracket and try to move it, the rod should move rigidly up and down for a short distance, otherwise there is a malfunction of the silent block.
