The flex hose of the exhaust system is made of elastic material and cuts into the muffler pipe. Such a sintered clutch is used to reduce noise and vibration that inevitably occur during engine operation. A specific car model may have its own type and design of the flex hose; in some designs of the exhaust system, it is adjacent to the catalyst. This part is installed both vertically and horizontally with a mandatory overlap on the pipe.

The usage of the flex hose

The FA1 brand Flex Hose, exhaust system gases can be destroyed because of constant alternating loads, due to the influence of aggressive exhaust, mechanical stress or excessive vibrations. This is manifested by strong noise, metallic or rattling knocks in the middle of the car. If the flex hose is faulty, engine thrust decreases and fuel consumption increases.

Repair of this part is not provided; if it breaks down, it will be replaced. It is also recommended to check the condition of the gaskets and the efficiency of the oxygen sensor. In case of untimely replacement of the muffler flex hose, a characteristic tapping will appear in the engine compartment, there will be a violation of the dosing of the mixture, the appearance of carbon deposits on the parts, and a premature failure of the neutralizer is possible.
