The DT SPARE PARTS brand Repair Kit, water pump consists of bearings, a press-in roller, a pump seal (barrel) of a new sample, a steel sliding washer, a sealing rubber cuff of the washer and a plastic impeller.
The impeller has a steel sleeve for pressing onto the shaft, which is threaded to facilitate its removal. The shaft is sealed by rubbing a steel washer against a graphite packing ring. The sliding washer is sealed with a rubber cuff, which is pressed against the impeller of the water pump.
The conditions of repair kit usage
It is recommended to lubricate the cuff with silicone sealant to protect the stuffing box spring and bearings from the coolant flowing between the cuff and the impeller. The pump seal is in a steel case with a steel spring, therefore, when installing the gland, lubricate its body with a thin layer of silicone sealant to fill in possible scratches and irregularities in the seat and protect the seal housing from corrosion. The end of the sealing element is lubricated with graphite grease to increase the contact area of the sliding washer before it rubs against the working surface of the stuffing box.
