The construction of the wheel bearing
By design, bearings are divided into single-row and double-row, angular contact ball and tapered roller bearings. The larger the bearing surface, the less the load on its elements and the longer the service life, therefore many manufacturers prefer tapered bearings, which are installed either in pairs (to compensate for multidirectional loads), or are immediately made double-row.
On the end surface, the bearing has a protective ring that reliably protects against leakage of grease and ingress of water and dirt. Damage to the ring means replacing the bearing itself: they are all made non-separable and not repairable.
