The outer cage is pressed into the seat of the gearbox housing, and the inner cage is pressed onto the shaft.

The functionality of the manual transmission bearing

Depending on the model, several bearings are used in the gearbox, two for one shaft. A tapered roller bearing is used at one end and a ball bearing at the other.
