A car generator is a device by which the mechanical energy of rotation of the crankshaft of a car engine is converted into direct electric current. The generator bracket is an integral structural element that protects the stator of the unit. These elements are made of aluminum. The brackets, thanks to the presence of the boreholes, are tightly set on the stator, tightly bolted together. Thus, the stator is clamped firmly between them.

The functionality of the alternator bracket

AS-PL brand Bracket, alternator drive flange are provided with ventilation holes for airflow to cool the generator. There are models where they are only at the end. In miniature designs, holes are made at locations above the center side of the stator winding. In this case, the airflow comes from the locations of both covers. To mount the generator with two legs, both brackets must be supported. In the first version, a bushing is placed in the hole of the rear paw, with the help of which, at the time of installation of the unit, a gap is set between the seat of the paw and the motor bracket. Brackets may themselves be subject to destruction. During operation, wear of the bearing-landing site, cracks, breakage of the fastener support are possible. In these cases, the generator bracket must be replaced.
