When the temperature reading of the fuel is higher, the sensor resistance is lower. The sensor is located in the drain line directly before the fuel pump. It cools the fuel by recording the actual temperature of the respective fluid. The sensor signal helps determine the temperature of the fuel. This information allows the engine control unit to calculate the start of injection, the amount of injected material. The functionality of a fuel temperature sensor

The signal from the sensor triggers the pump to cool down the fuel. This prevents the fuel from overheating. In addition, the fuel equipment does not overheat. If there is no signal from the control unit, the approximate value of the fuel temperature indicates the temperature of the corresponding fluid that cools the fuel. The fuel temperature sensor is located on the fuel pump housing itself. It is not used separately from the pump. The devices work in tandem. If the sensor fails, it is advisable to repair or replace it.
