Gasket, vacuum pump - 833.916 ELRING

The fuel component of the vacuum pump increases the fuel pressure, which is supplied through the rail to the injectors. Vacuum serves to create rarefied air. The vacuum strengthens the brakes and controls the recirculation system. Such a pump is located directly under the hood. It is bolted to the cylinder head. When removing or installing the device, a special gasket is used. It is placed between the cylinder head and the pump itself.

Despite their versatility, convenience and durability, vacuum pumps sometimes fail. Most often, this is due to a brake pedal breakage, or a lack of pressure, which is required for recirculation. It is also important to check the outlet tees and hoses. Sometimes the fuel part also breaks down. There are many more problems here. A union is provided on the vacuum pump. It allows you to measure the fuel pressure. With a working vacuum pump, the pressure of the latter reaches 3 bar at idle and about seven at high. Therefore, it is necessary to clean periodically the mesh at the outlet of the corresponding fuel from this pump.

When replacing a pump, it is highly recommended to install a new gasket between the pump with the cylinder head. Otherwise, new breakdowns may occur.
