Good quality! Super fast delivery. Thank you a lot :)

The pulse sensor is one of the key components of a non-contact ignition system. The sensor is installed in close proximity to the drive shaft of the distributor of the ignition system and monitors the speed of its rotation. The faster the shaft rotates, the more often the sensor transmits low voltage electrical impulses to the switch, which generates excitation signals for the primary winding of the ignition coil. Regardless of the shaft speed, the mixture in the cylinders should ignite exactly at the moment when it is needed, that is, when the piston approaches top dead center.

The vast majority of TOPRAN brand Sensor, ignition pulse used in ignition systems are of three types - inductive, optical and magnetoelectric.

The usage of the ignition pulse sensor

Like any electronic component that has no moving parts, the pulse generator itself is virtually indestructible. If problems arise in the operation of the ignition system, its diagnostics should be done last. To ensure reliable operation of the pulse generator, it is enough to monitor the cleanliness and integrity of the connector coming to it. If suspicions about the serviceability of the pulse sensor still arise, it is enough to connect a voltmeter to it and crank the crankshaft. The absence of voltage drops at the output will unambiguously indicate that the part is out of order.
